"What fine, relaxing days we had here! Wonderful how you experience the authentic French atmosphere here. Of course also because of the atmospheric guesthouse. We really enjoyed the mini holiday and felt completely welcome. Thank you so much for everything and we hope to come here more often."

Maxou

About us

Maison Maxou is named after this cute little guy. He is the oldest of our 3 dogs.

In 2022, we bought Maison Maxou. We, Rob and Mariken, after years of living and working in the suburbs, were ready for some more peace and quiet and at the same time more adventure in our lives. Hence the move to France.

After a lot of odd jobs and a lot of love, we have transformed the house into a beautiful typical French residence. We want to give our guests an experience of authentic and atmospheric accommodation.

Rob and Mariken

With the house comes a piece of land 50 metres away, bordering the river. Here our dogs can romp and we are working on a vegetable garden.

The house together with the land is also where Mariken gives her 1-on-1 retreats for 40+ women. There she can put all her (life) experience and energy into it. Rob's experience as a cook comes in very handy when he provides the delicious food during the retreats.

Do you ever regret choosing to go to France, we are sometimes asked. The answer is no. We have a good time here and we hope you will too during your stay at Maison Maxou!
